Jennifer Bryan grew up in Spokane, Washington.  She received her PhD in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and an MFA from Bowling Green State University.

She was the 2011 Kimmel Foundation Award writing recipient and has been a resident at the Vermont Studio Center and the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts.  She has taught writing and literature at several institutions, including SUNY Cortland, Bradley University, and Syracuse University.  She currently teaches composition and creative writing.

Her stories have appeared in The Missouri Review, Sycamore Review, IsthmusLIT, Fifth Wednesday, /nor, and other literary  journals.  Currently she is at work on a novel.

She lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband, the artist Arjan Zazueta, and their eleven-year-old daughter.   She is currently out getting an iced latte.
